Back into it

Second day back at work officially constitutes a ‘back into it’ mode for most people.  Everything has been unpacked, most of the photos have been organized, the final bills tallied…

All in all it was a much-needed and enjoyable vacation.  Special thanks to our friends on Marco Island for the use of their lovely house:  it was fun to live beyond our means for a little while.  The kids certainly enjoyed themselves and made some progress as swimmers.  They enjoyed the beach quite a lot, though not so much the ocean.  They also thought the alligators and crocodiles were pretty cool, especially the small muzzled ones you can hold and pet.

As for me–I did some reading, soaked up some rays, and finally gave in to the urgings of painted barns across the Midwest and saw Rock City.  I feel relaxed and revitalized.  I’m back into it with the writing as well, and this time it’s personal.  This probably means fewer and shorter blog entries here, but I suppose my many thousands of fans will just have to deal.

We came back from this trip determined to do more of them.  The kids are very good travelers, and apparently $3 gas won’t deter us.  We’ll see what happens when it hits $4.  Vacation photos coming presently.  And we’ll leave the Florida theme up on the Beemsville blog banner a while longer.
